I am a thirty-something year old happily married man, born and raised in East Tennessee and living there again after having lived for awhile on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus (long story). I have a beautiful wife, Leia, who I love deeply and who is my greatest joy. I have a wonderful, supportive family who have taught me virtually everything I know that matters. I love God deeply and am usually involved in a variety of Christian ministry pursuits at any given time. I have a deep passion for teaching people about the faith in ways that are illuminating and transformative, and I have a particular burden for young people. I also have a healthy disdain for a lot of what goes on in the name of Christianity in America these days. I enjoy reading books on theology, Christian history, social justice, and the intersections between faith and postmodern culture (as well as things like Tolkien and Harry Potter). I am a sports-watching junkie (baseball, football, basketball, hockey, golf), but the only sport I play anymore is golf, at which I could best be described as falling somewhere between  ”enthusiastic amateur” and “potential hazard to the health of himself and anyone near by.” I also play drums and dabble at the guitar, and I am a great lover of music, from prog rock to indie rock to grunge to Miles Davis to Phish.
